Atlanta Rapper Breskii Steps Into the Spotlight After Viral Metro Boomin Breakthrough

Breskii at the 2026 American Music Awards

Atlanta rapper Breskii is stepping into a new chapter after helping turn Metro Boomin’s “Take Me Thru Dere” into one of the most talked-about Atlanta records of the past year.

Born Breonna Cody and raised in southeast Atlanta, Breskii has gone from being a local personality to receiving national attention through Billboard chart success and recognition from the BET Awards and American Music Awards. Her unmistakable hook on “Take Me Thru Dere,” alongside Metro Boomin, Quavo and YK Niece, helped propel the record to viral success and a peak of No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her rise has come through extraordinary personal loss. Breskii has spoken openly about losing her mother, both grandmothers, her father and, more recently, her brother, rapper B Shot. Rather than stepping away from music, she has continued moving forward while making family, healing and community part of her story.

Now signed with Atlanta-based Sincethe80s, Breskii is preparing her debut project, “Mrs. 404,” a title that directly reflects her connection to Atlanta. The project is expected to include around 10 songs and features a collaboration with Young Dro.

For HITLANTA®, Breskii’s story represents another example of Atlanta continuing to create new voices, new moments and new music with the potential to reach far beyond the city.
