André 3000 Joins Netflix’s ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins,’ Filming in Atlanta
André 3000 is returning to the screen in Netflix’s upcoming live-action series Scooby-Doo: Origins, which is currently in production in Atlanta.
Netflix announced that André Benjamin has joined the cast in an undisclosed role alongside Cathy Moriarty and a growing ensemble. The series will explore the early story of Mystery Inc. and the case that first brought the group together. Production began in Atlanta earlier this year, with the series expected to premiere in 2027.
The casting carries an especially strong Atlanta connection. André 3000 rose to prominence as one half of OutKast, whose career began at LaFace Records and helped establish Atlanta as a major force in global music and culture.
With Scooby-Doo: Origins filming in Atlanta, the project brings together one of the city’s most influential music figures with one of the most recognizable entertainment franchises in the world.
