Atlanta Remains a Major Hub for Film and Television Production
Atlanta’s influence on entertainment continues to extend far beyond music, as a new slate of film and television productions reinforces Georgia’s position as one of the country’s leading production centers.
The September production slate includes 24 projects currently filming across Georgia, with major studios and streaming platforms continuing to bring television series, feature films and other productions to the state.
Among the projects currently in production are Netflix’s Scooby-Doo: Origins, Will Trent Season 5, Beyond the Gates Season 3, AMC’s Thunder Road, Amazon’s Dragonfly and Lizard Music, as well as projects from Sony, Warner Bros., Starz, Hulu/Disney+ and others.
The activity comes as the film and television business faces increased competition and changing production economics worldwide. Despite those challenges, the Georgia Film Office reported 280 productions during fiscal year 2026, generating approximately $2 billion in direct production spending across the state. Independent productions in Georgia also increased 83 percent from the previous year.
Georgia’s established production infrastructure, experienced crews, diverse filming locations and extensive studio network have helped the state remain competitive as the entertainment industry continues to evolve.
For Atlanta, the continued activity underscores something the city has demonstrated for decades: its influence on entertainment isn’t confined to one medium. From hit music to hit television and film, Atlanta remains an important part of the global entertainment landscape.
