Atlanta Braves Celebrate Jermaine Dupri at Truist Park
Atlanta music icon Jermaine Dupri received a hometown celebration as the Atlanta Braves honored the So So Def founder with a special night at Truist Park.
The July 22 celebration brought Atlanta music and baseball together for So So Def Night, featuring a Jermaine Dupri bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans, a So So Def food truck and a live DJ set by Dupri in The Battery Atlanta.
Dupri capped off the celebration by taking the field and throwing the ceremonial first pitch before the Braves faced the San Diego Padres. The Grammy-winning producer, songwriter and artist has played a major role in Atlanta’s rise as a global music capital through So So Def Recordings and his work with some of music’s biggest artists.
The celebration was another example of Atlanta’s music culture extending far beyond the recording studio — bringing together two of the city’s most recognizable institutions, So So Def and the Atlanta Braves.
